Jacob Bonehill

Associate Director - Planning RPS | Consulting

Jacob has lived in Birmingham his whole life and is a passionate Chartered Town Planner with 16 years’ experience working in the Midlands. He started his career at Birmingham City Council where he worked on a wide range of projects including Port Loop, the Birmingham Development Plan, the Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Aston, and the Commonwealth Games. Jacob joined RPS Group in June 2019, where he supports clients on brownfield and greenfield sites providing advice on planning, Environmental Impact Assessment and socio-economics. He works on both strategic and immediate sites, primarily within the residential and industrial sectors. While most of his projects are located in the Midlands, he is also involved in schemes as far south as Cornwall and as far north as East Ayrshire in Scotland.

Nicola Fleet-Milne

Owner/Founder of FleetMilne Residential Property Agency

Owner/founder of FleetMilne residential property agency, an independent, female-led agency. Nicola is also incredibly active in her voluntary positions. Nicola has been the Chair of the Colmore BID board since January 2020 and was Deputy Chair for 2 years prior. Nicola is also co-Chair of the Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Planning Forum, and an active member of Birmingham's thriving professional community; her drive and influential status have had a substantial impact on Birmingham’s development.

Matt Ford

Trustee & Director at Woods Hardwick

Matt Ford is a trustee and director at Woods Hardwick who deliver architecture, engineering, planning and surveying for the property and construction sectors. Matt heads up the company’s Birmingham office at Fort Dunlop and is a director for the engineering team across the Midlands. He has over 20 years’ experience and has worked for across the residential and commercial sectors from PLC to local private developers.

Adam Lawrence

Co-Founder/Owner - Multiple Investment Companies

Adam’s corporate career was in Wealth Management for boutique investment firms in Switzerland, and also included a role as a cross-business consultant for one of the UK’s top 10 lenders. He was also the Dean’s Scholar at Warwick Business School in the MBA class of 2013. Adam’s property career started in earnest in 2011 and since then he has been involved in over 650 UK properties, from flats purchased for £23k to portfolios of 91 properties at a time, and everything in between. The goal has been to buy at good value, add value, and then refinance and hold on - there has been some development, and sale, along the way but 90% has been to retain.

Joanna Lee-Mills

Partner & Head of Social Housing Development - Shakespeare Martineau

Joanna heads up our social housing development team. Her expertise encompasses advising on social housing development transactions, from site assemblies to larger scale phased sales and purchases. Having acted for registered providers since 2001, Joanna’s expertise encompasses all aspects of affordable housing acquisitions, sales and development and is often the primary interface on multi-disciplinary projects involving cross-departmental working. Joanna has previously worked at Birmingham city law practices Eversheds and Anthony Collins, and has a wealth of experience in larger scale social housing projects, including stock rationalisation transactions, stock swaps and transfers.

Ashley Waitt

Founder & Architect at Co-Arch

From a family background of property development Ashley Waitt practically grew up on development sites. Studying architecture at Portsmouth University, the University for the Creative Arts and the Architectural Association, he is the Founder of Co-Arch, an architectural practice focused on collaboration and people. Co-Arch, based in Brindley Place, Birmingham, Margate, Kent and Newquay, Cornwall, currently has over 100 live projects. The practice specialises in residential and commercial architecture and is currently exploring incorporating sustainable design principles within future projects. He is also the Co-Founder of AIIB-3D a progressive and forward-thinking computer visualisation company.

Alex Tross MRICS

Partner - Head of Office Agency at Carter Jonas

With a wealth of experience in Commercial Property, having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2008, Alex is Partner at Carter Jonas as Head of Agency, Midlands prior to this Alex was responsible for driving Centrick’s Commercial growth in the West Midlands and beyond. In addition to his role at Carter Jonas, Alex is Deputy Chair of Colmore Business District, providing him with expert knowledge of Birmingham’s business quarter. Alex was also voted Man of the Year, at the city’s Business Awards in 2022, after being nominated alongside leading business figures across Birmingham.

Amy is a chartered accountant and virtual CFO with over 13 years experience in accounting, tax and strategic finance. Amy has worked for some of the UK’s largest brands and now offers her services to the SME market.

Kirsten Marie Hald MRICS

Senior Surveyor at Colliers

“Kirsten is a highly skilled Senior Surveyor at Colliers in Birmingham, with extensive experience in the real estate industry. Starting as a Property Assistant at Bruton Knowles in Birmingham in 2019, Kirsten quickly progressed to join Colliers in February 2021 as a valuable member of the Investment Property Management team. Kirsten holds a BA Joint Honours degree in German and Politics from the University of Nottingham and furthered her education by completing a master’s conversion course in Real Estate at the University College of Estate Management, earning a distinction in April 2022, all while balancing her full-time job at Colliers. In May 2022, Kirsten achieved a notable milestone by passing her APC to become a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), demonstrating her commitment to professional development and expertise.

Shane Traynor

The Developers Network

Shane Traynor is a dynamic individual with a passion and commitment to Birmingham and the broader Midlands region. With a wealth of experience and extensive connections in the property industry, he returned to the UK in 2020 after working in the construction sector in Australia and New Zealand. Shane is the Co-Host of The Developers Network Birmingham, a leading educational networking event for property developers. The event has brought together an array of industry experts, including the Director of Planning for Birmingham City Council, Ian MacLeod, and other small to medium-sized property developers such as Bespoke Construction, who are devoted to building better homes across the West Midlands. Since its inception in October 2021, The Developers Network has consistently attracted between 80-100 attendees per month and has been a resounding success.
