Once the shortlist is announced, there’s a period of public voting where people can vote for their favourite nominees.

Shortlisted candidates will be provided with a ‘Vote for Me’ badge which they can promote on social media to encourage votes.

After voting closes, an independent panel of judges meets to adjudicate the results and select the final winners.  Judges will take the vote into consideration, however, this will not be the only criteria that will be judged.

It is recommended that you tell the nominee that you have put them forward for the award so that they are aware that we will be communicating with them for additional information in regards to their application.

We shall contact the nominee via email confirming your nomination along with their nomination badge which they can use to promote on social media/marketing campaigns.

At this stage, the nominee will also have the opportunity to send across any additional information to help support their application for the shortlist process.

If you’ve been nominated, here are the important steps to take:

  1. Complete the application: It’s crucial to complete an application form for your best chance to win. Remember, public votes alone do not determine the outcome, so a strong application is very important.
  2. Provide detailed information: Ensure your application is comprehensive, highlighting your achievements, testimonials, and supporting evidence that demonstrate excellence in your field.
  3. Spread the news: Share your nomination on social media and other platforms. This serves two purposes:
    • It builds awareness of your nomination among your network and potential voters.
    • If you make it to the finalist stage, people will be more likely to vote for you during the public voting period.

Remember, while public voting is part of the process, the judges’ evaluation of your application plays a significant role in determining the winners. Therefore, focus on submitting a high-quality, detailed application while also building support through your networks.

Yes we encourage you to send in any additional information which will support your nomination.  Please email supporting information to: anita@bevents.co.uk

The shortlisting process is conducted as follows:

  1. Shortlisting Panel: A dedicated shortlisting judging panel reviews all submitted applications.
  2. Scoring Criteria: Each application is scored based on how well it meets the established criteria for the award category.
  3. Selection Process: The highest-scoring applications are selected for the shortlist.
  4. Number of Finalists: We typically aim to shortlist between 5 to 10 finalists per category. However, this number may vary depending on the volume and quality of applications received.
  5. Flexibility: The actual number of finalists could be more if we receive an exceptionally high number of strong applications. This flexible approach ensures that all deserving entries have a chance to be recognised.
  6. Quality Emphasis: Our focus is on the quality of applications rather than adhering to a strict number of finalists.

Given the competitive nature of the shortlisting process, we strongly encourage all nominees to put forth their best effort when completing their applications.

A well-prepared, comprehensive application significantly increases your chances of being shortlisted!

Finalists are evaluated based on several criteria:

  1. Public vote
  2. Application strength: Quality and content of the written application
  3. Testimonials: Feedback from clients or industry peers
  4. Supporting evidence: Concrete examples provided in the application demonstrating excellence in the field

While public votes are considered, they are not the sole determining factor in selecting winners. This helps ensure fairness and prevents the awards from becoming a mere popularity contest.

We take several steps to ensure a fair and transparent judging process:

  1. Judge Selection:
    • Judges are chosen based on their expertise in the relevant field, industry experience, and reputation for impartiality.
    • We strive for a diverse panel of qualified judges to provide balanced evaluations.
  2. Fairness Safeguards:
    • Multiple judges score each entry independently.
    • We use a standardised scoring system.
    • Any conflicts of interest are declared and managed appropriately.
    • Winners are determined by the highest score after the judging process.
    • The winner is not revealed until the ceremony, and judges are not informed beforehand.
  3. Third-Party Verification:
    • An independent 3rd party auditor reviews our scoring process to ensure transparency and add credibility to our results.

These measures collectively work to maintain the integrity of the judging process and ensure fair evaluation of all entries.
